What is Post & Core Treatment?
Post & Core is a restorative dental procedure used to strengthen and rebuild a tooth that has lost a significant amount of tooth structure, usually after Root Canal Treatment. It provides a strong foundation for placing a dental crown.
A large portion of the tooth has been lost or fractured.
There is insufficient tooth structure remaining after Root Canal Treatment.
Additional support is required to retain the crown.
The tooth is severely damaged and needs to be rebuilt before crown placement.

Helps restore teeth with significant loss of tooth structure
Helps improve chewing function and appearance
Can help preserve and restore a natural tooth when appropriate
Not every Root Canal-treated tooth requires a post. The need for Post & Core depends on the amount of remaining tooth structure, the condition of the tooth, and the type of final restoration planned.
